Pedro Campos Vieira

I am Pedro, a researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with a Master's degree in the field. My broad area of interest is Network Science and Machine Learning. Currently I focus on topics at the intersection of geometry, topology, and deep learning. I'm aiming to continue this path through a Ph.D. in Topological and Geometric Deep Learning.

This is the front page of my website! This is very much a work in progress. Right now the website only lists my CV, Talks and Publications while also providing a short biography. I plan on extending this in the future. A good start is making some posts, that will be available in this tab.

If you don’t feel like going through my full CV, here is a short “corporate” description of my background:

Pedro Campos Vieira holds a Master’s Degree in Data Science (finished in 2024) and Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (finished in 2022) both from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. During his studies he was consistently top 1% across all years of study and finished with an average of 18 out of 20 (ECTS grade A; 3.90/4.0 GPA) for the Bachelor’s Degree and a 19 out of 20 (ECTS grade A; 4.0/4.0) GPA for the Master’s Degree. His Master’s Thesis, "Studying GNNs and their Capabilities for Finding Motifs", was approved with the maximum grade possible.

He also holds a specialization in Artificial Intelligence from Université Paris-Saclay à CentraleSupélec. Furthermore, he has around 3 years of experience as research assistant in institutions like INESC-TEC and FCUP. During this period, he participated in two projects, including DAnon, an exploratory research project held in a partnership with Carnegie and Mellon University. He authored three research articles as principal author.

Pedro has conducted multiple oral presentations, including paper presentations. He also focuses on giving back to the academic community. He participated as a reviewer in multiple conferences including the prestigious International Conference on Learning Representations. Pedro has also given special lectures and has been a part of the Monitoring Committee for both the Master's Degree in Data Science and the Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science for a total of three years where he focused on trying to increase the quality of the programs.

As for what’s next, I am looking to start a Ph.D soon :smile:!
